Residents in our Memory Care community are given the freedom to live fully and comfortably with licensed skilled nurses on site 24/7, private residences, programming to keep them engaged, and every feature to help them feel safe and secure.

Karissa Carson – Director of Community Relations
Karissa Carson brings over 10 years of experience in healthcare and senior living. Before transitioning into sales and marketing, Karissa wore many hats in the senior living community — from caregiving to leading activities — giving her a deep understanding of the needs, emotions, and challenges that come with each stage of senior care.
In her current role, Karissa focuses on building strong relationships between the community, local partners, and families. She takes pride in connecting people and resources, ensuring that seniors and their loved ones feel supported, informed, and welcomed every step of the way. Her compassionate and approachable nature helps foster trust, while her dedication to excellence ensures that each interaction reflects the values of the community she represents.
Karissa is passionate about empowering others, whether it’s mentoring team members, guiding families through transitions, or collaborating with local organizations to strengthen community ties.
Outside of work, Karissa enjoys dancing, hiking, and spending time helping others. Her enthusiasm, warmth, and commitment to service continue to make a lasting impact on everyone she meets.
Darlene Marshall – Executive Director
Darlene is our Executive Director at Charter Senior Living of Woodholme Crossing. She has more than seven years of experience in senior living.
She first joined Charter Senior Living in July 2022 as the Business Office Manager at Charter Senior Living of Towson. Prior to joining Charter, she was an Executive Director at a senior living community in Essex, Maryland. Darlene brings more than 25 years of leadership and management experience, both in the corporate and nonprofit sectors. She is a Certified Executive Coach, certified Assisted Living Manager, and a licensed minister. In her free time, she enjoys writing, crocheting, and diamond painting. She is married with three children.
Stephanie Russell – Director of Sales & Marketing
Stephanie has been a Senior Living Professional for more than 10 years. She began her career in Denver, Colorado, in 2013 as a Concierge before she transitioned to Activities Director. She loved using her energy and creativity to plan events and to enhance the spirit of the seniors she worked with during her time as an Activities Director. Continuing to grow in the industry, she took on the position of Sales and Marketing Director. Her creativity, love for people and planning events were all transferable skills in her new role.
Her empathy and compassion have naturally driven her success, and she continues to educate herself on the ever-evolving industry. Helping families navigate the process logistically, financially and emotionally is something that she finds incredibly rewarding. She prides herself in personalizing each families’ experiences based on their unique situations. She goes above and beyond to help them feel comfortable and welcomed in the community.
Although her professional career started over 10 years ago, her passion for Senior Living started in her early childhood, as she used to spend time in nursing homes with her mom, who worked as a Nurse in an Alzheimer’s facility. You can find Stephanie in her free time watching the Orioles and the Ravens, practicing yoga, and walking her miniature Schnauzer, Hank.
